Meet Susan Fox
Susan is an artist, author and member of the facility in the Expressive and Creative Arts Program at Salve Regina University where she co-founded an educational Institute. Susan’s background in teaching and expressive arts specializes in transformational learning, using art, consciousness, and deep ecology in which her students can begin to re-envision their relationship with nature through various artistic mediums.
In 2022, the Alumni Association of her alma mater, the State University of New York at Oneonta honored Susan with a Humanitarian Award for her diverse background in Eco -psychology, Mindfulness, Creativity and Counseling, as well as her work with women and the arts and a program she created, titled “Sacred Art, Sacred Earth.”
Susan is the co-author of two books, Visual Journaling: Going Deeper than Words (Quest), and Nature and the Art of Self-Expression, published through a foundational grant.
In her free time, Susan continues her deep connection to plants and animal habitats in her own garden, and weekly dips into Narragansett Bay all year round.

Eco-Land Art Project; a group that creates contemplative environmental art spaces that inspire mindful engagement with the land and a re-connection with nature.
These projects are intended to offer meaningful connections for everyone to engage with the natural world. Eco-Land Art sites are interactive garden-like spaces that allow for social engagement merging both earth and art.

The Heartseed Art Project is about opening to the seeds in our heart center and growing into who we truly are! Seeds are blueprints for what holds meaning and the blossoming of the life force within.
10,000 Hearts is an undertaking of the Heartseed Art Project, designed to use the power of the creative force to focus on empowering a heart centered level of awareness. The project invites creators to use the theme of the hearts energy to create.

Art Classes
Creativity, imagination and art expression give a voice to what has meaning in our lives. Both my personal art and my work with individuals and groups energizes a vibrancy in support of our authentic self.
My mentoring and Creative Exploratory groups are focused on playful self-discovery. Examples of on-going groups: Portrait Collage, Nature Journaling and the Muses of Creativity.

Sensory opportunities stimulate an embodied experience that calls me to express the layers and mystery I experience in the environment and in my life! Sometimes it is the call of a blue heron and other times it is the flattened metal car parts that I come across in the road. When looking at many of the images in my art, you see the energy I encounter as I create.
